Growing up I was exposed to the work done by the National Film Board of Canada. Norman McLaren became a big inspiration for me, influencing a lot of the formalist work I have been doing so far.
I had seen a film by McLaren called Pas de Deux in 2018. The style of the film inspired me to tell the story of Salvador Dali and his partner Gala. This entailed heavy research and development into multiple exposure and chronophotography.
We also used several cinematic techniques to push the boundaries of technology and visual language further in the Indian context.
