About this submission
I aim to achieve depth, breadth, and narrative perspective. My goal is to contrast the world of the dead, where the female protagonist resides, with the world of the living, where her husband remains. In the world of the dead, death knells and thunder serve as primary motifs, creating a surreal soundscape. Conversely, in the world of the living, the sound of water droplets replaces the tolling bells, creating a realistic texture.
The music is driven by the female protagonist's perspective, conveying her initial confusion about her death, the shock of realizing her husband cannot see her, and, ultimately, her acceptance of her own death. In the last part of the clip, I recomposed Mozart's Requiem to symbolize and hint at the connection to death, aiming for an interesting tone without being overly terrifying.
I gave the two dogs some "dialogues." Try to show the audience that one of them is an old, weak, dying dog and the other is a young dog, using their different tones to emphasize the magical realism of this world.
