Raised in both the Dominican Republic and NY, I’ve witnessed the often difficult challenges of the Dominican diaspora in the US. This film portrays the paralyzing reality that undocumented immigrants face on a daily basis. It conveys what it’s like to live with a mundane act such as posting on social media can jeopardize the safety of an entire family. The film narrates the identity issues of being raised in an undocumented Latinx household with modern-digital-age societal pressures. It emphasizes how the freedom to showcase intimate aspects of your life in social media isn’t a given for everyone.
