Cassie’s story is both a very personal story for me, but also one I hope other Asian women can relate to. The duality that lives within Cassie — the responsibility of a mother versus the passion of a lover, an outsider yet a masseuse who is allowed the most intimate moments with those in power — is one I’m certain audiences can relate to and accordingly, feel comforted through. I hope the story of Cassie can let other Asian women know they’re not alone in the battle within themselves.
