About this submission

The last year saw society retreat into isolation and the last few years saw an increased reliance on technology to communicate. As a child of immigrants, I wanted to show how ethnic groups simultaneously feel connected, targeted and isolated. I also wanted to find a visual way of expressing my inner discomfort towards a land I once saw as prosperous.

Creator
Prasanna Sellathurai is an award winning filmmaker and physics graduate from the South East of England. Prasanna's one minute film, "Falling", won first place in ScreenSpace's "Change Our Minds In 2 Minutes" competition. It also screened at several film festivals around the world including 60SIFF which screened "Falling" at the BFI Southbank. As a student filmmaker, Prasanna made seven short films. Two of these films won Durham Student Film Society's annual script funding scheme and the most recent film was screened at a private film event Prasanna organised.
