Created during the year of COVID, this film's story was very personal to me in that it represented the culmination of much anxiety and loneliness — something I'm sure a lot of us can relate to. Yet at its core, I wanted the film to be about breaking down these feelings and finding the relationships that help you through hard times. "Alienation" is a COVID film, but it is not about COVID. At least, this was my intention as writer-director.
