A short mockumentary, Africans With Mainframes follows LaJoye Watkins as she takes us on a historical tour de force of what she believes is the true history of electronic music. Watkins claims electronic music was started by a collective of black southerners in the 1920s called Africans with Mainframes. A reclusive Brooklynite, she dedicated her life to this cause and sacrificed much of her happiness throughout the years. However, in her unrelenting drive to preach this truth, she comes to a spiritual awakening of her own.
