I was inspired by the feeling of nostalgia for my hometown, the places that have shaped me, and the way perspectives can change in the shadow of departure. The specificity and universality of a change in the way one experiences the memory of their childhood and the physical spaces that hold memories interested me. I wanted to capture the feeling of nostalgia for one’s home and looking back on something before you’ve even left it. Telling this story through my specific space and memories, I hoped to create something personal that spoke to others on a deeper emotional level.
