A rural girl, Spring, wants to escape her hometown to learn art in the city and chooses to leave home early one morning. After thinking a lot on the bus, she eventually chooses to turn back halfway, only to start her painting in a sketchbook by the fire after dinner, seemingly giving up her dream but actually choosing to take more practical action. When I was in China, I also considered giving up studying film in America because of the high tuition fees, and I projected myself onto this country girl.
