Ty Cooper

My work experience varies. I started an entertainment marketing company in 1993 as an undergraduate student at Norfolk State University promoting concerts, parties, bus trip getaways such as College Weekend on the Slopes, Spring Break in Daytona, and many others and 25 years later doing the same. But during these years, I developed an area within the company of which I started creating my own tv commercials instead of outsourcing. This lead to me to producing the successful street basketball dvd titled, The New Legends of Streetball Vol 1 & 2 and distributed it globally. I started directing and filming commercials for others such as finance companies, political candidates, restaurants, custom auto designers, non-profits, and much more. Since 2016, I have been directing, filming, and producing the documentary, America's Darkest Future: The Cost of an Inaccessible Early Education. I have created mini-docs for non-profit organizations. In June 2018, I completed the short film, Mingle, which I served as the director, cinematographer, and editor. I just started submitting it to film festivals and this is actually my first short narrative. It has received a couple of awards include, Grand Jury Award for First Short Film. At this time I am writing a short narrative titled, Amanda. Amanda is a character in a feature which I plan to write after that short is completed. I started writing the feature but fell in love with the character Amanda and wanted to tell her story first.
