Nicole Avenia

Born and raised in Michigan, Nicole is a former middle school teacher who is a master of psychological suspense, the horror genre, and female perspectives. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English and from Brooklyn College with a MA in English Education. She was a NYC Teaching Fellow and public school teacher for several years before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in writing. 

She was selected for the Disney Feature Writer’s Program, where she wrote for the live-action department. She has developed projects with several production companies such as Anonymous Content, Spyglass, Fifth Element, and Working Title. She most recently wrapped as a Co-Producer on Freeform’s MOTHERLAND through Gary Sanchez Productions, where she garnered over 300 hours on set. She is currently writing her first novel, a mystery/thriller set in Florence, Italy.
