Born in Tel Aviv, Morani Kornberg has spent her life oscillating between the U.S. and the Middle East. She is a writer, artist, scholar and performer, and holds a dual-B.A. in Psychology/English and a Ph.D. in English/Poetics. Morani’s debut non-fiction essay, “The Summer That Never Happened,” was a Finalist for Cosmonauts Avenue’s 2019 Non-Fiction Award. The essay explores motherhood in the backdrop of the 2014 Gaza War. Her poetry collection, Dear Darwish (BlazeVOX 2014), addresses the renowned poet Mahmoud Darwish and reimagines Israeli-Palestinian relations. She also translated Israeli-Anglophone poet Karen Alkalay-Gut’s Miracles & More (Keshev 2011) to Hebrew. Morani is currently developing two original television pilots, while completing a TV Writing Certificate at the Writing Pad. “Letting Go of Zelda” is her debut short film, which draws on her Solo Show on mental health and disability.
