Jeff Malmberg

Jeff Malmberg is a documentary filmmaker whose debut film Marwencol has won over two dozen awards, including two Independent Spirit Awards. It was recently named a Cinema Eye Decade film, as one of the 20 best documentary films in the last ten years. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship for his second film, Spettacolo. The film was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Documentary and was on the year-end top 10 lists of Esquire and Vulture, among others. 


He was recently nominated for an American Cinema Editors award for editing Morgan Neville’s documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? which was released by Focus Features in 2018 and has become one of the best-reviewed and highest-grossing documentaries of all time. His current project as director and editor is Shangri-La, a four-part series for Showtime about the creative process to be released in the fall of 2019.
