Elyse Steinberg and Eli Despres, ACE, with partner Josh Kriegman, directed and produced the documentary feature film THE FIGHT (Magnolia), Special Jury Prize winner at Sundance 2020. They previously collaborated on the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner and Oscar shortlisted documentary WEINER (IFC Films) with Steinberg & Kriegman directing; Despres as editor. The team also created the acclaimed Showtime series COUPLES THERAPY, featured on over a dozen critics’ top ten lists for 2019 and now editing Season Two.

Elyse Steinberg was named one of Variety’s 2016 “Top Ten Documakers to Watch.” Prior to creating, producing and directing COUPLES THERAPY, THE FIGHT and WEINER, she directed the acclaimed feature documentary THE TRIAL OF SADDAM HUSSEIN (PBS), an exposé of violations of the rule of law by the Iraqi government, and an exploration of human rights abuses. Elyse also directed and produced for PBS’s investigative news show NEED TO KNOW.
