Daphne Pollon spent 25 years as a Writer-Producer for television comedy, for numerous series getting her start on IT'S GARY SHANDLING'S SHOW, MURPHY BROWN, STYLE AND SUBSTANCE, THE JOB, LOVE AND MONEY, MY ADVENTURES IN TELEVISION and SULLIVAN AND SON. She’s created several original pilots for networks and streaming.
She was then recruited by USC and spent four years teaching Graduate Television Comedy Writing, Graduate Thesis, and their famed Multicam Workshop. She’s lectured at Cornell and recently was a mentor for the Athena Film Festival where she led a Writer’s Room Workshop at Barnard. She’s been a guest speaker for the Galway Film Festival and the Dingle Film Festival in Ireland. Last winter she was a resident Guest Lecturer at Napier University in Edinburgh and continues to mentor her international students. Through the WGA she taught military veterans in their comprehensive year-long writing workshop. Currently, she teaches at Purchase College while writing the 8th draft of her first novel and consulting. Raised in San Francisco, she graduated (eventually) from USCB. Recently she moved to Fairfield, CT, because it's ridiculously gorgeous.
