Dana Lustig has directed five feature films and produced over twenty independent features.
Dana directed the dark love story A THOUSAND KISSES DEEP starring Jodi Whittaker ( Dr. Who) and Dougray Scott. The movie was nominated for the British Independent Film Award.
Other directing credits include the comedy WILD CHERRY with Rob Schneider and CONFESSIONS OF A SOCIOPATHIC SOCIAL CLIMBER starring Jennifer Love Hewitt based on the NY Times bestseller by the same name. The movie became the highest-rated telecast for Oxygen’s original programming.
Dana also directed KILL ME LATER starring Selma Blair which was included in Leonard Maltin’s prestigious list of the Fifty Films that Got Away, Movies You Really Ought to See. Upon its release by Lionsgate, The Hollywood Reporter wrote “Lustig creates the kind of film the movie world could use more of.”
Dana’s directorial debut was WEDDING BELL BLUES starring John Corbett, Illeana Douglas, and Paulina Porizkova. The Hollywood Reporter said “…You can practically hear the sighs of the women in the audience who relate to the problems of the three heroines…”
Among Dana’s recently produced feature films is JUNGLE, a true survival story starring Daniel Radcliffe based on the best-selling book and shot on location in Colombia and Australia. Dana also produced Assaf Bernstein’s movie LOOK AWAY with India Eisley, Jason Isaacs, and Mira Sorvino. Dana is also an executive producer on the recently released SPIDER IN THE WEB with Ben Kingsley and Monica Bellucci.
In the TV world, Dana executive produced the second season of the mega hit Israeli TV series VERY IMPORTANT PERSON, nominated for six Israeli Emmys.
Dana was a partner at Bergman Lustig Productions for ten years. BLP produced films and television including BRICK, directed by Rian Johnson which was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award and DANCING AT THE BLUE IGUANA, directed by Oscar nominated director Michael Radford.
Next, Dana will direct an American remake of the Israeli movie THE MAN IN THE WALL and executive produce the film adaptation of the NY Times bestseller Reading Lolita in Tehran.
Dana was born in Israel and served in the Israeli army as an actress. She moved to Los Angeles to study at the American Film Institute. Dana is a member of DGC, SAG, and PGA. Dana has Canadian citizenship.
