About this submission
For this submission I used a combination of organic and synthesized sounds. Organic sounds used were shepherding flutes and other acoustic instruments such as the guitar. Still, these instruments passed through electronic processes and were juxtaposed with electronically produced sounds such as synths. I was exploring in-organic and organic, internal and external, the mundane and the extraordinary... while thinking about the imagery and how to relate the subjects to the music. I was inspired by thinking about what the characters were noticing in their time alone, or during their brief time at the window. This noticing allowed me to think about which elements to introduce, how to shift between sounds, and which sounds to bring back. Some sounds to me indicated comfort,, longing, or history (the warmer sounds of the flute or guitar), and others hinted at wonder or trepidation (synths).
