This film on the surface examines the effects of domestic violence and alcoholism on family relationships and outcomes; a sustained issue within modern society. However, it ultimately acts to challenge our mindset in regards to influencing personal outcomes. It suggests that our mentality is more of a choice than people so often believe. Thus, by adopting this ideology; many more people would be able to 'escape' the condemnation of domestic violence, alcoholism etc.
