Leisa Coffman is a multifaceted creative professional known for her work as a writer, director, producer, and singer/songwriter. She has a diverse background in the entertainment industry, spanning book publishing and film production.
Writing Career: Coffman has been writing since childhood, describing it as a natural form of expression akin to talking. She is the first time author of Sable's Secret, a novel blending historical fiction, mystery, and romance, featuring a protagonist who forms a deep connection with Erik Weisz (Harry Houdini) amidst personal dilemmas and intrigue. She has also written film scripts, songs, and poems, with a passion for storytelling rooted in her family history—her 5th cousin five times removed, Isaac Kauffman Funk, co-owned the Funk & Wagnalls publishing house.
Filmmaking: As a writer, director, and producer, Coffman has worked on several short films. Her work is noted for its avant-garde style, with comparisons to director Godfrey Reggio (Koyaanisqatsi). Her short film A Place received praise for its haunting visuals and music, while The Porcelain Bird was lauded for its poetic storytelling and use of music. She also writes original music for her films, combining her talents as a singer/songwriter.
Luna Lum: Coffman founded Luna Lum, a platform encompassing Luna Lum Films and the Luna Lumen Film Festival, which celebrates unique global films with distinctive “To the Moon” awards. She also creates original natural products, meditations, and music under this brand, showcasing her innovative approach.
