My collaborators and I wanted to tell the story of migration, movement + transience. Unfolding from our experience in the Somali diaspora, the piece takes the lead from East African mythos and Islamic imagery to explore mythmaking, Blackness; and this idea of a ‘generation of ghosts’, people who are caught between worlds + realms.
