About this submission

The struggling Jazz Man must grapple with the futility of producing an album alone. He tries everything in an attempt to better understand himself as an artist and a man. Written as a sporadic poem and filmed with a crew of one, "The Jazz Man" was made to explore Jazz as a form of filmmaking. The elements of improvisation and run and gun filmmaking become greater than the sum of their parts, much like Jazz music.
