About this submission
Most immigrants struggle to create a life in the United States, more so if they are on a dependent visa. For they leave their home, their jobs, their families, their communities to support their spouse. For some it means being lost in transition, being isolated, putting their life on hold and losing their dignity. These challenges are further compounded for those dependents who do not speak English.
“Seedhiyan” is a story of one such woman, who is trying to create a life as a dependent and her little victory in finding home away from home.
