In high school, I wanted to be a filmmaker, but my school offered next to nothing to make that dream accessible. I couldn't afford to pursue the medium by my own means, so I relied on a community education organization, Spy Hop, to explore filmmaking. Renaissance Youth Center is a similar organization located in the Bronx, and with them, I wanted to highlight the invaluable resource that community education can be for kids like me. These organizations afford students the chance to find what they love, rather than forcing them to settle for what is deemed simply practical.
