About this Video
Reaffirming is a story about two friends who reconcile a disagreement over the course of a hike. Sparse in dialogue and gently paced, this film was shot on location in Castlewood State Park outside of St. Louis, Missouri, with a local crew and a shoestring budget. Through this story, we wanted to capture a universal experience of close friendship—deep frustration—in the specific context of the Midwestern United States. In pairing these emotional and physical conditions, we sought to romanticize both.
