I wanted to tell an interpersonal story about two boys meeting for the first time, one a foster kid and the other the host, and how that difficult position could manifest into something more. I wanted to create a story that my friends and I could relate with and feel a connection to these characters and their predicament. Part of that relatability meant creating the story around available actors and available sets so that the setting felt believable. This combination of factors made this a compelling story I wanted to tell.
