The backbone of this piece is a slowed-down field recording of the nightly crickets outside my window. Their flickering, glitchy call mirrored the flashing frames in the film clip, which I read as a lightning storm. I sang harmonies to their eerie chant, creating a human/cricket chorus that highlights moments of transformation for the protagonist - when she turns away from the figure at the window and when, in my interpretation, she bounds down the path in her new form as a glowing canine spirit. The other instruments I played are harp and semi-modular analog synth, which I chose for their erratic, metallic resonances.
