For this year’s Dolby Sound & Music Challenge, I was immediately drawn to clip #3 from Chronicles of a Wandering Saint.

Upon hearing the silent clip for the first time, my ear was led in many creative directions—from the eeriness of the black abyss being pushed and pulled, to the suspenseful transition to the dreamy grassland, and finally to the ending with a glowing dog and its fellow tail-wagging companion. My approach leaves the audience not quite terrified of emerging from the blackness, but rather curious about the meaning of the night and the whimsical nature of the fantastical yet familiar figure at the finale.
