As a filmmaker living with late-stage Lyme Disease, I made this film to reflect on how my perception of insects has evolved throughout my lifetime. I wanted to better understand myself as well as share my experience having an illness that gradually took over my life. It just so happens that my particular illness is a result of time spent in nature, close enough to be bitten by it and forever changed. I shot 16mm film due to its almost tactile quality, and spoke through distinct memories that have shaped my ever-changing understanding of how insects and humans coexist.
