Wrongful conviction of the factually innocent has plagued the American justice system for decades. While the Innocence Movement has only recently entered the public consciousness, The Exoneration Initiative has spent the last decade working to exonerate the wrongfully convicted. As EXI approached their ten year anniversary, they wanted to produce a film to demonstrate their accomplishments but did not have the resources. Since this is a cause I care deeply about, I was happy to make the film pro bono. Throughout it all, my only goal was to tell the exonorees' story in a way the justice system never did.
