Spotlights feature conversations with high-profile film and television industry professionals who share helpful advice and insights on their career experiences and creative processes.

Join Sundance Collab for an exclusive Spotlight with prolific screenwriter and executive producer Dana Fox (How to Be Single, Cruella, Home Before Dark, Wicked) as she talks about her writing journey in film and television, including co-writing the epic two-part musical film Wicked and Wicked: For Good based on the hit novel and Broadway musical.

In Wicked: For Good, we find Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, living in exile, while her former friend Glinda (Ariana Grande) enjoys the perks of fame while living in Emerald City. The story tackles themes of perception, power, sisterhood, and the sacrifices one must make to serve the greater good.

In this exclusive conversation, Fox will discuss adapting celebrated works, collaborating with co-writers, finding a story’s emotional core, and using lyrics to bring a musical screenplay to life.

Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters on November 21, 2025.
