In today’s digital world, protecting yourself and your creative work isn’t optional—it’s essential. From lighthearted comedies to powerful documentaries tackling sensitive issues, every filmmaker’s work is vulnerable to hacks, leaks, and digital threats without the right safeguards.

The Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF) trains journalists, filmmakers, and other professionals on how to protect their work in the digital era. In this 90-minute live online session, representatives from FPF will share insights on how filmmakers can keep their materials safe from hacks, phishing attempts, and other forms of digital attack. They will share advice related to password security, protecting your online accounts, and ensuring your footage remains safe.

The session will end with a live audience Q&A with tech-security specialists at FPF. Join Sundance Collab for the first of two events with FPF on how you can keep your materials safe and secure. The second session, Travel Security for Filmmakers, will take place on Thursday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
