Morag's Summer
Creator: Helena Wild
A 3-min film, bit experimental, bit free style. I am not very sure which category it falls into. It's about how an English lady cope with this special summer in Beijing during COVID-19.
On the Wild Plateau
Creator: Helena Wild
Changtang Nature Reserve, northern Tibet. 5000 m above sea level. The third-largest land nature reserve in the world. We take a closer look at how the herders-turned-rangers protect wildlife on the Plateau, the highest place on earth.
The Island
Creator: Helena Wild
It's about the identity of "Zanzibar", an island on the east coast of Africa. The island was a trading hub in the Indian ocean. For centuries, Persians, Arabs, Africa, Indians migrated to this island and managed to live together and integrated. The island has a surprisingly low crime rate, comparing to other parts of Africa. People of different ethnicities there seem to have created their own micro-universe of peace and sustainability. This film is trying to find out the secrets to cultural co-existence and tolerance.
