It’s Chinese New Year. Charlie Wu, 20, excitedly shares that she's been accepted into a study abroad program with Xiomara Wang, 42. Xiomara immediately says no. Xiomara relies on Charlie to help with taking care of Lewis, Charlie's younger brother with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Shortly after, Lewis has a seizure. Charlie is asked to take Lewis to the doctor the next day, but refuses because of an exam. After a heated argument, Charlie and Xiomara have a heart to heart to understand each other. Xiomara accepts Charlie's decision to go abroad and the two join Popo and Lewis for dinner.
