Stefanie Azpiazu

Head of Production and Development, Likely Story

Stefanie Azpiazu is the Head of Production and Development at Likely Story, as well as a founding member of the company. The bi-coastal production company was created in 2006. Last year, she produced two films by lauded directors Nicole Holofcener and Tamara Jenkins. Tamara Jenkins’ film Private Life starring Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn had its premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival to strong reviews. Netflix will release the film later this year. Nicole Holofcener’s newest film Land of Steady Habits will also premiere later this year. The film stars Ben Mendelsohn, Edie Falco and Thomas Mann and is adapted from a novel by Ted Thompson. 

Prior to that, Stefanie produced Nicole Holofcener’s critically acclaimed Enough Said starring Julia Louis Dreyfus and James Gandolfini that was released by Fox Searchlight in 2014. Previous producing credits include The Circle, Indignation, Our Idiot Brother, The Extra Man, Please Give and Carriers. As an executive she oversaw production on Charlie Kaufman's Synechdoche New York, Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mike Mills feature debut Thumbsucker and Nicole Holofcener's previous two films Friends With Money and Lovely & Amazing. Prior to working in production, she started her career as a Story Editor at USA Films and in Acquisitions at October Films.
