Rachel Weise is an LA-based writer-producer who began her career as an entertainment attorney, representing an impressive array of clients ranging from screenwriters to streamers including Netflix. After earning her Producing MFA at the AFI Conservatory, she worked as a creative executive at Maniac Productions (CHOIR, CODE BLACK) where she developed several television projects for their overall deal with Blumhouse, including DIE, THE BATTERSEA POLTERGEIST, and THE FOLD.
She has produced projects for the Disney/AFI Underrepresented Storytellers Initiative as well as AFI’s prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Her passion for genre shines in her work as Director of Programming for Bloodletter—a feminist literary magazine elevating female, nonbinary, and trans voices in horror—as well as her AFI thesis, The Erl King (starring character actor Marti Matulist), which was released on AMC’s premium streaming service Shudder.
Rachel strives to create projects that highlight underrepresented voices and she continues to grow her creative community with this express goal.
