Too many words. Not enough pictures, sounds, and music. That's what compels me to express my beliefs, values, and priorities through film. A focus on simple images, woven together to communicate bigger ideas, is at the center of my creative and production efforts. With an extensive background in international corporate and commercial projects, now is the time to get more personal. More local. More powerful. More intent on positive outcomes for people and communities, with the energy I'd found in doing international development work centered on indigenous women's cooperatives in Central America and beyond.

'The Time Minders': A film by Peter Reese

Somewhere between fiction and 'it could be happening now,' this short, poignant film shows the power of caring for others; even if they lived in the past and were not part of our family. Or if their life was tragically cut short. At the core, this iPhone -shot story is about valuing people simply for being part of humanity.

AGAINST THE GRAIN: The daily life and community impact of artist Peter Leue

Creator: Rimrockrunner
Now, more than ever, the ability to 'connect without contact' is essential. Bringing a sense of humor and humanity to the world has been central to artist Peter Leue's life. Mostly confined to his workshop because of the pandemic, this accomplished fine arts furniture maker and instructor revisits his raw material, wood, to find new purpose in the creation of life-sized, posable figures seen across the United States since 2014. Shot entirely on an iPhone, this 3:00 whirlwind journey into Peter's creative mind and daily life serves to encourage all with ready access to simple materials in pursuing their vision: Particularly when being face-to-face is no longer as simple or possible. Concept, script, cinematography, sound design, and editing by Peter Reese.

Anytime, Everywhere: The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Creator: Rimrockrunner
With work and life challenges magnified by COVID-19, the suicide risk has grown to one out of four Americans ages 18-24 (CDC June 2020). Isolation is not a good thing, and WFH can mask the struggles our peers and friends are experiencing at any age and stage. Particularly those who are marginalized or unseen. This under-1:30 video brings home some of the causes and expressions of these serious challenges -- and hope with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1 800 273-8255. Watch it, pass it on, and reach beyond the surface to help them. And know that this project was motivated by the nearly-successful attempt of a former coworker to end his life in the last 60 days.https://lnkd.in/gChZMD5#mentalhealth #depression #help #suicideprevention #hopeful #loveoneanother #prayer #wfh

RECLAIMED: When Man's Done, Nature's Only Begun

RECLAIMED: When Man's Done, Nature's Only Begun

Creator: Rimrockrunner
Anchored in the planned 2021 production of a 10 to 12-minute documentary, RECLAIMED delivers hope for our future with a hard-won lesson: 'Nature + Science = A Better Future." Three segments lead to optimism based in reality as the planned core of the story flows from 1) the travesty of over-grazing land for cattle, to 2) the incredible power of biology to thrive and create new, adapted forms of cells, and finally 3) the pioneering work of actually 'growing' leather sustainably in a warehouse in Brooklyn. With formative commentary from a noted anthropologist and archaeologist on why humans often push their natural surroundings beyond the breaking point, this documentary can be produced safely in a COVID-19 environment. All to challenge, inform, and motivate creative thinking on personal, community, and corporate levels. And featuring the work of noted cinematographer and producer, Rhett Cutrell, as central to bringing the RECLAIMED mission to life.
