Pedro Henrique Chaves is a writer-director from Brazil. Through his acting background, he found love in filmmaking and discovered how great it is to make relatable stories so the audience can see itself on the screen and feel inspired. Since the age of 17, he has been directing and shooting in different countries, including Brazil, Thailand, and Canada. His first short film, ROCKET, premiered at the HBO presented New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF) and has screened at several other international festivals, such as the Latinx edition of NewFilmmakers LA, in partnership with The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. ROCKET was also a winner at the International University Academic Film Festival (FACIUNI), supported by DirecTV, WarnerMedia, Sundance Collab, and CAA, awarding Pedro with a scholarship for the USC School of Cinematic Arts Summer program. Now (2021), Pedro is in his last year of college and currently working on his thesis short film. His primary interest is to make new connections and partnerships to develop new ideas, and he plans on applying for a Master's degree abroad, so he can keep improving his craft.
