Omer Ben-Shachar is a director and writer born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He was recently selected for Forbes Israel’s ‘30 Under 30’ list. His latest film TREE #3 won a Student Academy Award, Palm Spring’s 'Audience Award' for Best Student Short, UrbanWorld's 'Best Young Creator Award', HollyShorts’ ‘Best Student Film Award’, and was nominated for a student Emmy, among others. Omer received AFI’s Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence Award for Directing. Omer is a graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory, a participant of the BAFTA LA Newcomers Program, and is now 1 of 10 directors selected to participate in the 2019 Viacom Viewfinder Directors Program. Prior to his studies at the AFI Conservatory, Omer served his three years of mandatory military service as a film director and editor in the IDF’s Spokesperson’s Unit.
