Omer Ben-Shachar is a Los Angeles-based writer-director. His film TREE #3 won a Student Academy Award, Urbanworld’s Best Young Creator Award, Palm Spring’s Audience Award, was nominated for a Student Emmy, and screened at over 100 festivals around the world. Omer’s latest short, SINGLE RESIDENCE OCCUPANCY, is currently on the festival circuit, where it won first place at the Imagine Entertainment & Adobe ShortFest and the Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the Atlanta Film Festival. Most recently, Omer was a participant of the 2024 Film Independent Screenwriting Lab. He previously participated in Film Independent’s Project Involve Program, Warner Bros. TV Directors’ Workshop, and Paramount’s Viewfinder Directors Program. Omer is a graduate of the AFI Conservatory, where he received the Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence Award.


Beyond his narrative work, Omer has directed music videos featured in Rolling Stone, Billboard, Nowness, and at the Hammer Museum, earning multiple Vimeo Staff Picks, a Webby Award, and a nomination for a Cannes Lions Young Directors Award. Omer is a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) as well as a BAFTA Connect Member.
