Nate Gualtieri - Sundance Collab

Nate Gualtieri is a writer-director who creates socially engaging narrative thrillers with a focus on transgender issues and masculinity. His recent credits include the Sundance 2024 Special Jury Award-Winning feature Desire Lines, now available on Apple TV.

Nate also served on the writing staff for the Berlanti/CW series Gotham Knights. Nate’s feature directorial debut, Queerbait, was selected for the Proof of Concept Fellowship supported by Netflix and Cate Blanchett’s Dirty Films, and the 2025 Sundance Feature Lab. He was recently named in Filmmaker Magazine as one of the "25 New Faces of Independent Film for 2025.”

He is an alumnus of the Film Independent Project Involve Fellowship, where his previous short film, Wrong Bathroom, was featured as a Vimeo Staff Pick and on Short of the Week. With work that showcases both the tender and toxic sides of masculinity, Nate is passionate about finding big stakes in grounded stories.
