Miluka Rivera, is a noted writer of nine acclaimed books, in which she showcased the contributions of Puerto Ricans and Latinos in cinema predating the silent era and in Hollywood. She recently obtained a Certificate of Completion of Sundance Co//ab in "Screenwriting: Crafting Your Short Film." Rivera also wrote the Spanish version of the television series "Lo Extraordinario," starring Ricardo Montalbán. Additionally, she was a co-host of the TV show "Chef Piero's and Friends," and produced and hosted the radio show “Living Legends with Miluka Rivera" on KIEV 870 AM. Among her guests were Oscar winner Cliff Robertson, veteran actor/activist John Randolph, and Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress/comedian Liz Torres. As a filmmaker, she co-produced, wrote, and directed the docudrama (based on her acclaimed book and praised poem of the same title) “Hollywood Latinos Offspring,” which embarks on a beautiful poetic journey and deals with the triumphs and struggles of Latinos as co-founders of American cinema predating the silent era. The film starred legendary Emmy-winning actor Henry Darrow (The High Chaparral), Olga San Juan (Variety Girl and Blue Skies), as well as Roselyn Sánchez (New-Fantasy Island and Rush Hour 2) and Eddie Vélez (Traffic). She studied in the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, (where she obtained a diploma in PublicRelations), UCLA, journalism/writing, and Dov-Simens Film School. Also studied at Herbert Berghof Acting School, Barbizon School of Modeling-Model and instructor and former Miss Puerto Rico and founder of the Kumaras Center for the Arts, Dance and Etiquette in Burbank, CA. She is listed in Marquis’ “Who’s Who in the World”. Miluka is a multi-awarded author-actress-activist (former National member of Screen Actors Guild and SAG’s recipient) with a background in journalism. In addition, she is a historian, biographer, lecturer, poet, and philosopher, who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the arts and literature for decades. She hopes through her books and future production of her scripts “to inspire, empower and make a significant difference and help to broaden our horizons in this influential industry.
