In 1989, civil war broke out in Liberia. Many fled the country, others were killed and some settled on camp Buduburam. 33 years later, many live life in limbo. The documentary follows the lives of a few young residents of Buduburam and their identity struggles, resilience and determination. It tells the story of Eugene and Winifred who both dream of greener pastures but feel connected to the camp that has long been their home. Directed by a Ghanaian filmmaker, the film shows this multi-facetted story through their eyes – rather than through the gaze of aid-organizations or journalists from abroad.
