Kim Rosenstock
Kim Rosenstock is an Emmy and WGA-nominated TV writer, producer, and playwright renowned for her deft exploration of complex themes, seamlessly blended with emotional depth.
Most recently she served as co-creator/co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer of FX’s critically acclaimed (98% RT-certified fresh) limited series DYING FOR SEX, starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate, which premiered April 2025. The series, based on the hit Wondery podcast, garnered nine Emmy®-nominations, with Rosenstock earning two Emmy®-nominations for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Writing for Limited or Anthology Series. The show marked Rosenstock’s debut as a creator/showrunner - a major milestone in an already impressive writing career - and was praised for its sharp, heartfelt, and deeply personal perspective - qualities she brings to every project. Her episode “It’s Not That Serious,” which she wrote, was also nominated for a 2025 Humanitas Prize.
A television veteran, Rosenstock has also been a pivotal part of television comedies such as NEW GIRL and ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING, which she received Emmy and WGA-nominations for. She also worked on the WGA-nominated Netflix comedy GLOW and ABC comedy SINGLE PARENTS. She has developed pilots with acclaimed creators Paul Feig and Amy Poehler.
Before transitioning to television, Rosenstock began her career in theater and playwriting. After earning her Playwriting MFA from Yale Drama, she honed her skills in the literary department of Playwrights Horizons and went on to be Associate Producer of Ars Nova Theater in New York. There, she created a playwriting group and developed new work across genres of music, theater and comedy.
Her plays and musicals have received critical acclaim and been produced around the country, earning an Outer Critics Circle nomination for her play TIGERS BE STILL and a Drama Desk Nomination for her musical FLY BY NIGHT.
