Kemari Bryant

Greensboro, North Carolina, United States

Kemari Bryant is a filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist based on the East Coast. He is deeply concerned with uncovering untold stories on film, and the juxtaposition between realism and the absurd – particularly the thin line that separates the two, lying in the expression of surrealism in visual media. He seeks to push the boundaries of audiences by revealing expressions of the unconscious mind, and by pushing the viewer so close to non-reality that they are forced to face absolute reality. Both intimate and charged with perspective, his work aims to strip down preconceptions of Black art and life on screen to give way to the infinite possibilities that come from the Black experience. He currently tours as an actor in the National Tour of The Book of Mormon.
