Julie Bridgham is an award-winning director and producer whose work has focused on social justice issues ranging from civil wars, big oil, civil rights, climate change, and immigration through the lense of the human experience. She is a former Sundance and IFP Fellow and the recipient of the Nestor Almendros award for courage and commitment in human rights filmmaking. Her award winning documentary feature THE SARI SOLDIERS focused on women on opposing sides of Nepal’s civil war, and has screened in over 50 countries. She has produced and/or directed for major networks, including CBS, Discovery, Hulu, BBC, the Travel Channel and TLC. She was the Executive Producer for the award winning, Sundance supported documentary DRAWING THE TIGER, and recently worked on the feature I AM GRETA, a feature documentary on Greta Thunberg currently airing on Hulu. Previously, she was the Feature Documentary Programmer for the Brooklyn Film Festival. Julie is currently producing a documentary feature based in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas focusing on Civil Rights, and is also working on a documentary series focusing on the rise and fall of the Fossil Fuel industry. She lives in Brooklyn with her son and their dog Izzy.
