James Patrick Nelson recently starred Off-Broadway in the New York Times Critic's Pick "Memorial" with Pan Asian Rep, and the premiere of "Reverse Transcription" with Potomac Theatre Project at the Atlantic. He appeared in Broadway's "Slave Play" at Center Theatre Group, and the world premiere of Terrence McNally's final play, "Immortal Longings". He and his cast won a Helen Hayes award for Bedlam's "Sense and Sensibility" at the Folger Theatre, reprised at the American Repertory Theatre. He began his Off-Broadway career in "The Three Sisters" with Maggie Gyllenhaal, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Bebe Neuwirth, and "Ivanov" with Ethan Hawke at Classic Stage Company. Additional credits at the Mint Theatre, Berkeley Rep, Geva Theatre, and American Shakespeare Center. His TV pilot "For Years to Come" played in a dozen festivals, including Outfest and SeriesFest, and streams now on Short Frame with a quarter-million views. His next film "Something to Surprise Me" films in August in NYC.
