Y mil cabras me miraron / And a Thousand Goats Looked at Me

Creator: J Caleb Urrea
My brand is Spanish-language drama/horror with anti-colonial and religious subtext. For the first piece in my body of work, I chose to adapt the death of my father into a narrative about Abrahamic patrilineal shame, guidance through one's mortality, and reconciling with one's loved ones at the end of one's life. Before we achieve a decolonized society or liberate ourselves from religious trauma, we must first heal ourselves and find self-admission. It is personal, but universally cathartic in that intimacy.
