As college platform diver Savannah embarks on a comeback after a 10-month medical recess, she dives into a journey of rediscovery, not only in the pool but within herself, exploring an individual's relationship with time, space, memory and their present identity. The camera intimately follows Savannah's journey as she resumes her 10-meter platform dives just two weeks before the first seasonal competition until the day of the competition, and invites the audience to be in the quiet moments of being radically present with oneself.

My background in literary studies and my fascination with Virginia Woolf’s works have always inspired me to explore a more feminine, fluid, stream-of-consciousness and multi-sensory way of expression. During the summer of 2022, I followed the USC diving team and investigated the diver’s individual perception of and approach to this mentally and physically demanding sport. I found the sophisticated psychological process they go through compelling and the motif of “breaking water'' aesthetically poetic. I decided to utilize both narrative and documentary footage I shot and sound design to create an immersive experience of their mental journey without any dialogue.
