Vimeo

Emily Shesh is an LA based writer and director with a penchant for dramedy and dark comedy. Before staffing her first TV gig on Wu-Tang: An American Saga for Hulu in 2020, her television writing and development assistance included USA’s Queen of the South, Netflix’s Disjointed, starring Kathy Bates, and E! Network's Juicy Stories written by Michael Patrick King and Amy B. Harris. Prior to staffing, she wrote the season one finale of Wu-Tang as the writers' assistant, and had the privilege of covering set for her episode in New York. Born and raised in New York, Emily is a graduate of Columbia University’s Film MFA program with a degree in writing for TV and film. Her thesis film, Parents of the Groom, was awarded two development grants and her shorts have screened at international and domestic festivals including Nantucket, Montréal World, and Santa Fe Independent. She holds a bachelor's degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and worked in production and post production in New York for six years before moving to LA. Outside of filmmaking, Emily's writing has been published in No Tofu Magazine and Fearsome Critters Journal. In a former life, Emily was a dancer and writer of music reviews. In a future life, she’s a wine-making tarot reader.
