Ella Rhodes (she/her) is a director and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. She studied Film, TV, and Digital Media at UCLA. She takes special interest in perverse cinema as a tool to challenge the objectification and abjectification of queer and femme people. Beyond directing and producing, Ella is a Production Assistant at Amblin. She interned across development, distribution, and publicity at production companies including XYZ Films, A24, NEON Rated, and FilmNation Entertainment. She also studied independent producing while assisting Katie Schiller (Shiva Baby, The Lesbian Bar Project). Before moving to LA, she volunteered for her local filmmaking community via the Sacramento International Film Festival and the BENT – Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival. In her free time, she can be found learning the bass, reading, running, at local punk shows, cooking elaborate meals for friends, or making the long drive home to Sacramento, CA.
