Douglas James Haban

As a storyteller and filmmaker from Hawai‘i, I have the honor and responsibility to share the stories of my home. This short film takes place on the island of Lanaʻi, home to the smallest community in the state of Hawaiʻi. Growing up on a small island it is always difficult to decide what's next after high school. They are those who find a way to escape paradise in order to discover themselves far from home or stay rooted in responsibilities of a place and culture that has provided for them.
